


PALM directed
much of its early efforts toward what most would consider a
very simple task -- help labor and management get to
know each other better. Meet. Talk openly. Identify mutual concerns.
That continues today.
But we're also working closely with PALM members on a number
of other fronts, including helping them incorporate
participation and cooperation in the workplace. Other relationship
issues we're helping members address include trust-building,
negotiation
and conflict resolution through our Conflict
Resolution and Collaborative Negotiation training.
Recognizing
that an adequately prepared workforce is vital to a strong
economy, PALM continues
to be forward-looking in our approach to seeking innovative ways
to develop productive labor-management relations. Among these is Open
Space Technology, a process for bringing issues and solutions
to the fore in an open and inviting environment.
